Car audio test equipment is the core tool to ensure the quality of the car audio system. Its standardized operation process ensures that the test data is accurate and reliable, and provides a scientific basis for audio debugging and optimization.
Before operation, the equipment calibration and environmental preparation must be done well. First, place the test microphone in the standard listening position in the car (at the level of the driver's head), connect the audio analyzer and signal generator, and calibrate the equipment after turning on the power to ensure that the frequency response error is controlled within ±0.5dB. The test environment must be kept quiet (background noise ≤30dB), and the windows and air conditioner must be closed to avoid external interference.
The core test steps are carried out in three steps. The first is the frequency response test. The signal generator outputs a 20Hz-20kHz sweep signal. The audio analyzer records the sound pressure level of the speaker at different frequencies in real time, generates a frequency response curve, and determines whether there is frequency band attenuation or peak. The second is the distortion test. A 1kHz standard sine signal is input to detect the total harmonic distortion (THD). The THD of a high-quality audio system must be ≤0.5%. The last is the sound field positioning test. The multi-channel test signal is played, and the sound image position of each speaker is collected through the microphone array to ensure that the sound field is accurately focused without offset or overlap.
Data processing and analysis are key links. After the test is completed, the equipment automatically generates a report containing parameters such as frequency response, distortion, and signal-to-noise ratio. The technicians judge the problem based on the curve trend: if the high-frequency band attenuation is obvious, the crossover parameters need to be adjusted; if the distortion exceeds the standard, it may be a speaker unit matching problem. Some high-end equipment supports data comparison function, which can be compared with industry standards or factory parameters to quickly locate the optimization direction.
Standardized operation of car audio test equipment can comprehensively evaluate the acoustic performance of the audio system, solve the problems of noise and chaotic sound field from the root, bring immersive auditory experience to car owners, and also guarantee the quality of car audio R&D and production.
